Year 7 Catch-Up Funding

Year 7 catch-up funding will continue to be allocated to the Numeracy and Literacy support teachers who work with selected pupils who enter TMS at below expected levels of attainment (below a Scaled Score of 100 based on KS2 SATs results).  In conjunction with Head of English and mathematics, ten pupils per term are selected for withdrawal support.  They are taught according to their individual weaknesses on a 1:1 basis.  If their attainment meets expected levels then a new pupil will be identified and targeted who may not be making the expected progress since their arrival at TMS.

During 2017/18, 80% of pupils receiving 1:1 mathematics catch-up intervention made expected progress or better and 85% of pupils receiving 1:1 English catch-up intervention made expected progress or better.

The 2018/19 Year catch-up funding will continue to be spent on 1:1 English and mathematics intervention teachers based on the same criteria as stated above
