Year 10 Home Learning

Home Learning

revision

Working at home to consolidate the learning that has taken place in school is one of the best ways to commit knowledge to the long term memory, ready to recall key information when it is needed (in assessments or everyday situations).

All students have been provided with Knowledge Organisers (KOs), that outline the key information that is required for success in each subject area (click here to access the knowledge organisers on The Malling School website).

Students can use these KOs to first of all learn key knowledge for upcoming lessons (as is expected as part of the weekly home learning routine), as well as using ones from previous terms to revisit past topics, further embedding content and ‘overlearning’ (the process of continuing to practice and revise after it has initially been learnt)- this technique will enable students to master each subject area and give them the ability to apply their knowledge and understanding in any given situation.

In this section you will also find specific tasks that should be completed for each subject area. Within each folder, you will find an overview from the Head of Department, identifying what you should focus on and tasks that should be completed, as well as subject specific hints and tips.
