Ben Steele and Rebecca Martin have recently been voted Redgrave Senior House Captain and Vice-Captain respectively.

As part of their role they were given the responsibility of producing a message to go on the wreath which will be accompanying The Malling School pupils on a trip to the battlefields in France and Belgium, organised by the Humanities Department.

The wreath will be laid at Tyne Cot Cemetery in Ypres, Belgium. The message reads, “To all of the soldiers who have fallen whilst fighting for our country. On behalf of The Malling School, we would like to say thank you for showing such courage, bravery and for making such a huge sacrifice in order to make our country a better place to live in, May your honour be forever in our memory”.

The Battlefields Trip will focus heavily on World War One as this year marks the 100th year anniversary of the beginning of the war. We look forward to hearing some reviews and reflections from the trip in next terms edition.
