February Half Term Opportunity for Children Aged 8-14

Become a Sky News Journalist for the day!

This opportunity is for 8-14 year olds but there are a limited number of places available so book without delay.

Come behind the scenes on an exclusive tour of Sky Studios and get the chance to work with all the latest technology to make your own TV report in Sky Skills Studios, West London.

Thursday 19th (Part 1) and Friday 20th (Part 2) February 2015 – reporting on Animal Rights

This report examines our attitudes to animal rights and welfare. Catalonia bans bullfighting, and on the same day in the UK animal rights activists protest against animal testing. One is a top story, another is barely reported. As a nation of pet lovers, we respond with strong emotion to tales of abused animals. At the same time, most people have little interest in what happens in slaughterhouses, factory farms and labs. How do we really feel about different forms of animal rights and welfare?

Part 1 will take place between 10am and 4pm in Maidstone (you can drop your child/ren off from 9.30am) where the children will work with Lesley Finlay (News for Schools) and other young people to form Studio Journalism Teams to prepare for their experience in front of or behind the camera!

Part 2 will take place at the Sky Skills Studio in London! Transport for Part 2 has been organised with three pick-up/drop-off points across the county (The Long Reach Pub in Whitstable, M2 Services and Bluewater)
