Our Christmas Concert

A magical Christmas atmosphere greeted families and friends of The Malling School as they arrived for the annual Christmas Concert on Tuesday evening.  Giant Christmas scenes were projected on to the school building, candles twinkled in jars along the pathway, Dickensian characters welcomed the guests and everywhere there were boughs of Christmas greenery.

As the concert got underway it was clear that the audience were in for a real treat.  Traditional Christmas carols were interspersed with performances with a more modern twist, the school band played and students sang solos.  There really was something to put everyone into the Christmas mood.

During the interval the school's World Challenge students, raising money for their forthcoming expedition to Morocco, served hot and cold drinks, mulled wine and a dazzling selection of tempting cakes.  There were also lots of fun activities for the younger spectators to take part in.

Principal, Carl Roberts, who congratulated everyone involved, but especially the Year 11 Music and Performing Arts students, who organised the whole event as part of their coursework, said: "Our school concert traditionally marks the beginning of the festive season for me. This was our very best Christmas Concert ever."
