Cooking up a Storm

On Tuesday 23rd January Mrs Whitfield and Mrs Cable accompanied  a group of KS5 Workskills students to Mid Kent College to complete the final session of their Chef Academy course.

Students had been preparing over eight weeks in which they learnt and practiced their new found cooking skills.

The finale came with a 5 course meal that they prepared and cooked for 50 guests served in the college restaurant The Oaks, the theme was Burn's Night complete with a Haggis, neeps and tatties course.

Food was served very professionally by Mid Kent students on the Air Cabin Crew course, dressed in their finest uniforms.

Guests including parents, carers, Governors , teachers and their families enjoyed a fantastic evening with amazing food.

At the end of the evening students were presented with a personalised Chef jacket each and certificate congratulating them on their achievement in completing the course .

The students overcame any fears they may have had at the start of the course and surprised themselves at their achievements.
