Parent Zone Course for Parents/Carers

We are very pleased to be working with Parent Zone, experts in online safety and digital parenting to deliver a free course in May/June at The Malling School.

Mr Miller, Deputy Headteacher responsible for Safeguarding and E-Safety, has been trained by Parent Zone to deliver the Parenting in the Digital Age course. The course includes four short sessions created to help you to keep your children safe online.

Who should attend?
The course is open to all parents and other adults, caring for children (including grandparents). It is suitable for families with children of all ages, from early years right through to teens.

How does it work?
The course runs over four sessions but don’t worry if you can’t make it to all four, as they’re designed to work on their own too.

Session 1 takes an overview of the main social media applications used by young people today, their features and risks. An ideal session if you don’t know much about what your child may be using every day.

Session 2 is all about online risk and what makes some places online more risky than others.

Session 3 looks all the different types of parental controls and settings and helps you decide which ones – if any – you want to use.

Session 4 gives you information and advice on becoming a more confident digital parent.

When and where will it be running?
Monday 14th May 6PM-7PM
Monday 21st May 6PM-7PM
Monday 4th June 6PM-7PM
Monday 11th June 6PM-7PM
