Storytelling Performances from Y13

Year 13 Performing Arts pupils have just completed a unit of work called Storytelling. In this unit they had to research different children’s stories as well as exploring techniques used when performing stories. Each Year 13 pupil chose one story that they would go on to adapt, creating a performance suitable for young children. The stories chosen included The BFG, The Hare and the Tortoise, 101 Dalmations and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

The Year 13 pupils then performed their stories to the Year 7 transition group. Some chose to perform their story outside, around the school site, with the Hare and Tortoise having their race down by the lake. It was lovely to be able to make use of different performance spaces and the September sunshine.

The year 7 pupils were a fantastic audience and really enjoyed the performances, with some inspired to come and join Drama Club on a Thursday lunchtime.
