PE / Sports Science

Physical Education

In PE all pupils complete a number of activities including football, basketball, dance, rugby, badminton, sports science, volleyball and take part in team building exercises. They also have the opportunity to partake in after school clubs.

Students work on a rotation through the subject depending on what group they are in.

Year 9

Sports Studies

The lesson structure will vary throughout the course. There will be formal lessons which will be teacher directed, where as other lessons will involve the student taking responsibility for their learning. This could involve working with others, contributing to discussions or independent learning.

Year 10

GCSE Physical Education

The course builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills established in Key Stage 3 Physical Education. It will give  the opportunity to be involved in a number of different physical activities, promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.

Pupils can perform in one or all of the following roles: player/participant, leader or official.
