Inside our School
The Malling School is very fortunate to be housed in a PFI school. The benefits of being part of this private funded initiative is that we enjoy a very well kept and up to date building, a great environment for teaching and learning. Our students have access to up to date facilities which supports their development both in the curriculum and as young people.
Our modern and well-kept buildings are supported by extensive outside areas. As well as the school fields that are part of the main school site we also have access to two further fields, one as a sports field and the other for anything from ecology club to cross country.
Our lake which is next to the school is well managed by our site management team and a lake committee made up of members of our local community. Their support in maintaining this area is one of the ways that the school works with various stakeholders in our community, a greatly appreciated support.
Plans to use the lake and other areas to offer our students activities such as canoeing and other outside pursuits are well underway. The school’s commitment to the Duke of Edinburgh Award, various sports and outside activities is enhanced by having these areas available. We also have plans to support local primary schools forest school initiatives and hope very soon to see younger students pond dipping and orienteering in our grounds.
